Councillor Nigel Jones Selected As Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate For Newcastle
Nigel says: "We Liberal Democrats have a policy to reduce tax for those on low and middle incomes, fully costed even in the present circumstances. Liberal Democrats have always believed in a fairer distribution of wealth; this is embedded in our constitution."
Nigel has lived in Newcastle for 19yrs, elected to the Borough Council for 7yrs, served the last four as Chair of Audit.
He has also done much for the people of the area as a teacher, local preacher and musician.
Policing Our Streets

Research by the Liberal Democrats has revealed that since 2005, Staffordshire police have reduced the number of officers by 33 (that is 6%), including a 1.5% decrease in 2009. Similar has happened across the country in about half of all police authorities.

Education Can Still Be Improved
